A new film from Rafael Viñoly Architects shows the updated design for NEMA Chicago, the New York firm’s forthcoming Windy City project that is climbing to new heights of residential luxury. Situated on the southern edge of Grant Park, this 76-story collection of Downtown Chicago apartments will be the city’s tallest rental building when complete, providing residents of its 800 homes with spacious interiors by David Rockwell and 70,000 square feet of luxury amenities, all with breathtaking views of Lake Michigan and Downtown Chicago. The building’s structure is itself a reference to Chicago’s rich architectural history, which Viñoly drew from to create a modern take on the iconic Willis Tower.
