While some Windy City construction projects find themselves meeting with local resistance, construction at NEMA Chicago is continuing apace, with the first stage expected to be complete by May. This 76-story tower from developer Crescent Heights will be the city’s tallest all-rental building when complete, an achievement celebrated by architect Rafael Viñoly’s Willis Tower-inspired design. Residents of these Downtown Chicago rentals will find themselves floating above Grant Park, enjoying skyline and Lake Michigan views from their homes and the building’s 70,000 square feet of luxury amenities. Even better, Viñoly and interior designer David Rockwell crafted the building to meet LEED silver specifications, meaning that residents will rest easy knowing that their home is built from recycled materials and designed with energy-saving features.
