Star Party | Chicago Women's Park | 7:30 PM | August 23

Amateur astronomers of all ages will love this nocturnal gathering hosted in one of Chicago’s urban parks, where guests will be able to gaze at the heavens through provided telescopes. When they’ve tired of the cosmos(!), participants can toast marshmallows and camp out in tents set up by Kids Science Lab and the Prairie District Neighborhood Alliance.

Screening of First Man | Chicago Women's Park | 8:00 PM | August 24

Continuing the outer space theme from the previous night’s Star Party, the Prairie District Neighborhood Alliance and T-Mobile will screen the 2018 film First Man at Chicago Women’s Park on Saturday, August 24. The film stars Ryan Gosling as Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon, and takes viewers through the astronaut’s journey to this momentous event.

Chicago Bears vs. Tennessee Titans | Soldier Field | 7:00 PM | Aug 29

On the last Thursday in August, the Bears and the Titans will meet at Soldier Field and play one of the final preseason games before the NFL’s 100th season. The Bears, who lost last year’s Super Bowl, come into the game with something to prove against the Titans, who narrowly missed the playoffs last year.

Aon Summer Fireworks | Navy Pier | Every Wednesday at 9:30 PM and Saturday at 10:15 PM

Just a short walk from NEMA Chicago, Navy Pier is home to Chicago’s premier fireworks displays, put on twice a week throughout the summer. These spectacular explosions are synchronized with music, providing an unforgettable end to any summer evening.

North Coast Music Festival | Huntington Bank Pavilion, Downtown | August 30-31

At the end of August, Chicago will once again be home to North Coast Music Festival, one of the nation’s biggest electronic dance music festivals. With performances by big names like Bassnectar and Major Lazer, as well as dozens more artists, the festival promises to keep EDM fans entertained for two whole days of dancing and beats.
